SHANGHAI - XI'AN - BEIJING
Day 1 Australia - Shanghai
Your trip begins with your day flight to Shanghai. Transfer to your hotel
upon arrival.
Day 2 Shanghai
Shanghai is the pulsing, commercial heart of China. Walk along the
famous Bund, then continue on to the Yu Gardens and the Shanghai Museum.
Afterwards, view the city from the TV Tower in Pudong.
This evening, enjoy an acrobatic show.
Day 3 Shanghai - Xian
Free day to explore and enjoy Shanghai. Late afternoon transfer to the
train station to travel “soft sleeper” to Xian.
Day 4 Xian
On arrival this morning transfer to your hotel. Over 1,000 years ago,
Xian was the capital of the Tang Dynasty and the biggest, most cosmopolitan
city in the world. Visit the Shaanxi Museum and the remarkable
Terracotta Warriors site.
Tonight, attend a Tang Dynasty Show performance.
Day 5 Xian - Beijing
Walk along the top of the Xian City Wall, then visit the Wild Goose Pagoda,
the symbol of Xian. Complete your touring with a visit to the old mosque and l
ocal market. This afternoon, transfer to the station for your overnight train to Beijing.

Day 6 Tiananmen Square - Temple of Heaven
Transfer to your hotel upon arrival. After breakfast, visit historical
Tiananmen Square. Continue on through the gates into the Forbidden City.
Finally walk the white marble corridors of the Temple of Heaven, the most beautiful
temple complex in China. This evening you will attend a traditional Peking Opera.
Day 7 Great Wall of China
Today pace the ramparts of the Great Wall, then traverse the lovely
Shisanling Valley to see the Ming Dynasty Tombs and Sacred Walk.
Tonight, enjoy a sumptuous Peking Duck dinner.
Day 8 Summer Palace - Hutongs
Today you will visit the wonderfully preserved and restored Summer Palace.
This afternoon, experience a rickshaw tour of Beijing's original “hutong” district,
a fascinating maze of back alleys and hidden courtyards.
Day 9 Beijing
Full day at leisure to explore and enjoy Beijing.
Day 10 Beijing - Australia
This afternoon transfer to the airport for your flight home.
